Scars / Stretch Marks Reduction FAQs

What are the most common scars treated at Rejuvenative?

We routinely see patients with scars that are a result of breast augmentation surgery and caesarean section surgery. We also treat numerous scars resulting from mole removals by GP’s using scalpel technique and skin cancer surgery.

What are stretch marks?

Stretch marks are narrow streaks or lines that happen on the surface of the skin. They are referred to as striae by doctors. Both males and females can be affected by this condition.

As stated above, stretch marks occur as a result of the sudden stretching of the skin. The middle layer of skin (dermis) breaks in places, leading to scarring.

Stretch marks that form during pregnancy are known as Striae Gravidarum.

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment/program is based on the type and size of the area that is being treated. Each patient is distinctive and needs a different treatment regimen. This is assessed at the time of the initial consultation which is free with our cosmetic nurses or dermal therapists. A treatment is devised for each client and the cost can be assessed at this time. A single treatment session can cost anywhere between $350 to $2500.

Which areas are of the body can be affected?

The abdomen, buttocks, breasts, upper arms and thighs are the places of the body that are most commonly affected.

Everyone does not get stretch marks. People who develop them many a time have a genetic predisposition. Stretch marks are often more noticeable in patients having darker skin.

What is the difference between reddish-pink and white stretch marks?

Stretch marks are often red or purple, to begin with before they gradually fade to a silvery-white colour. Stretch marks generally fade and become less noticeable with time, but this can often take years.

Is it possible to treat stretch marks?

Unfortunately, there is no miracle treatment or cream to completely eliminate stretch marks.

If you have stretch marks that are considered unsightly or mark that affects a large area of your body, you may want to opt for one of the treatment options available. However, it is important to understand that stretch marks are a skin condition that cannot be easily treated. Like hormonal pigmentation and acne, stretch marks can be very tough and resistant to treatment.

Hence, at Rejuvenative, we have invested in the most advanced and versatile array of medical and laser treatment options that are available today to deal with most stretch marks. We only provide treatment to patients who have realistic expectations and are willing to allow several treatment sessions over a period to get maximum results.
